Van Nelle Factory

This unique factory built in 1931, is Dutch modernism’s monument. World famous for its progressive design which gives new meaning to air, light and space in architecture.

The Markthal

An architectural spectacle of the highest order! That is the Market Hall; the scale is huge, the “ceiling painting” by Arno Coenen is dazzling, not forgetting the huge glass curtain wall.

Rotterdam Central Station

The distinctive station building Sybold of Ravensteyn has been replaced by a stainless steel “shark”. In a 1.5 hour tour, you’ll discover all the ins and outside of our beloved central station.

The Kunsthal

The Kunsthal was designed by Rotterdam architects OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture). The exhibition building is a key piece in the work of the now world-famous Rem Koolhaas.

The Kiefhoek House Museum

Kiefhoek is the undisputed highlight of modernism in the Rotterdam housing sector. One of the houses can be visited with Urban Guides which has been turned into a museum.

Het Nieuwe Instituut: House Sonneveld

This incredible house was built in 1933 and was designed by the architects Brinkman and Van der Vlugt, which gained international fame with designs for the Van Nelle Factory and De Kuip stadium.
